Specifications

This is an AJ Royal Floor Lamp, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen in 1956. It was manufactured in Denmark for the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen in 1958. It is formed of matte painted / coated steel and retains its original elliptical fabric shade. The stem is fashioned of solid cast-iron. This lamp stands 73.6 inches in height, 9.2 inches in width, and 14 inches in depth. The condition is quite good, but remains vintage and will show signs of use and time. The original shade is intact but is original to the piece. It shows some discoloration. The lamp is tested and functional. It was acquired from a Philadelphia area collector, who bought it from a European dealer decades ago and had the piece shipped from Europe to the US. Please see photos. The buyer may pick up the furniture, have it shipped by our shipping partners (buyer will pay for full shipping cost, though will not have to arrange it), or discuss potential delivery within reason following the end of the auction.
