A very good looking and well-made antique desk. The top is hand dyed brown with gold leaf tooling, the frame all walnut with burl walnut drawers. The desk was made by and retailed through Withy Grove Stores in Manchester, they were established in 1850 so the desk may be a little older. It has whats called cushion curves, it relates to the nice curve below the recessed top drawers, I've never seen this model before, I've seen two similar Regency models. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, apart from drawer handle missing it’s in lovely condition.
